I know everyone is talking about the early round of games featuring a lot of mismatches but our first two games don’t look particularly easy, Croatia followed by Ghana?

There is a strong expectation that many World Cup matches will face lengthy delays due to thunderstorms.

In the United States, play must be stopped immediately if lightning is detected within roughly 13 km of a stadium.

The match can only resume after 30 minutes without any new lightning strikes. If another strike is detected, the 30-minute countdown resets.

As a result, some matches could be delayed for several hours, just like what happened during the Club World Cup.

Everything about a World Cup in North America is piss-poor. Extreme weather and humidity, especially in the southeast, is a nightmare. Travel restrictions and denial of visas could significantly hamper some national teams. Transportation is a joke. A stadium built near a toxic waste dump in Jersey that is only accessible by car or expensive trains with no buses or footpaths is ****e.

its just a rip off culture and country
like that stadium, you have to get the train to access it
and its like 150 dollars for a short train ride
just to rip off fans, most expensive world cup tickets ever

i love the geography of the states, but everything else is just awful

A change in the ticketing announced, initially Fifa were the only source of tickets (I believe) now they are allowing ticket sites to sell them.
It has been suggested that this is due to poor sales, what had been a $700 ticket on fifa is now available for $200 on a ticket site. If fifa themselves had reduced the price it would have opened a door for compensation claims but by selling them through another outlet they don't.

This is happening all the time at concerts and festivals, particularly this time of year.

Just seen that FIFA have updated regulations at the last minute to ban re-usable water bottles. What a scummy and regressive move. **** the people, **** the planet, it absolutely must make maximum profits above all else.

You can't take a water bottle into a football ground! Someone could throw one at a fan, steward or player.

Of course, you'll be able to buy an expensive bottle of stadium approved water once you're inside as those are fitted with a safety device that means it can't be thrown at a fan, steward or player.

FIFA. They think of everything, them lot.

Reusable water bottles were already banned in a lot of stadiums so they have made it a blanket ban that is all

Pretty much par for the course at all concerts and sports events.

Pretty much par for the course at all concerts and sports events.

And the same logical absurdity applies.

To say that you can't take an item into a venue because it's dangerous if thrown and then sell the self same item within the stadium makes no sense at all until you factor in the notion of financial exploitation.

At least airports try to justify the grift by claiming that you're trying to blow up a plane.
