It was not VAR that gave it. It was the referee, who should clearly not be allowed to officiate again without a trip to Specsavers followed by a visit to a psychologist and an operation to have a spine inserted.
It was a very rare occasion that I agree with Gary Neville. The defender went to block the shot, Kane kicked him and then fell to the floor. I would criticise the VAR official because there was no “clear and obvious error” in the referee’s original decision. Can anyone recall an occasion when a referee has been sent to the screen and not awarded a penalty? The spineless German with the whistle will probably be getting a visit from the Dutch.
How did Ollie Watkins get Player of the Match for ten minutes on the field? Was Sky Sports in charge of deciding it? They usually just give it to whoever scores the winning goal.
Spain have been the best team in the tournament, winning all their games (13 goals), and I fully expect them to win the Final. England have got there playing mostly rubbish (7 goals) and it won’t be penalties this time...
