Lyon away was good but **** sake Lyon at Ibrox was horrible.

Are Scotland definitely seeded for the play offs now? I noticed that Austria are one of the unseeded teams. Did we beat them twice in the group or was it a draw and a win?

Just reading on wiki that there's semi-finals and finals?

From watching Sky last night, I thought it was a one legged playoff to the finals?

Doesn't matter anyway, the Jocks will succeed in failing in a glorious fashion.

We get home advantage against an unseeded team. 1 leg.

Assuming we get through that we get drawn against one of the other remaining teams. Could be home or away. 1 leg.

BTW it's only a one-off game which gives Scotland an advantage as they are at home,don't know what will happen in the final though.(home advantage or it could be played at a neutral ground)


In a first-time format for European qualification for the World Cup, the playoffs will take the form of one-off games over two rounds, a semi-final round and a finals round, to determine the three teams who will advance to Qatar.

This is much like the format of the playoffs for Euro 2020, which several of the teams taking part will be familiar with.

When will the playoffs take place?
Once the draw has been made on November 26, the next key dates to look forward to are the playoff semi-finals, which will take place on March 24 and 25 next year.
Everything will then be set in stone by the end of March, with the three finals being played on March 28 and 29. Then, for the three victorious teams joining Europe's contingent in Qatar, preparations will begin for the first ever winter World Cup, which will begin on November 21, 2022.
