I mean, are we really saying we couldn't do with somebody who will track back for 70 yards at full pelt and win the ball when he gets there if needs be?

Ultimately we already have 4 midfielders who are similar profiles, he’s a good player but we got Bentancur instead and even if we lost one of the CMs, we might want a different skillset. He’s clearly hard working and good off the ball but I don’t know that he’s transformative enough with his work on the ball to make a difference to what we have.

I still get the feeling that Amrabat was the backup plan as McKennie was the top CM target for January and we made sure to have him ready to join in case McKennie fell through - but then Bentancur became available and we zeroed in on him instead

And with McKennie once again being linked, no wonder Amrabat is once again in our orbit

Amrabat’s probably been the midfielder of the tournament, was great again tonight even if Mbappe did meg him late on. Said it a round or two ago it’s easy to now see why Don Fabio looked at him but with opting for Bentancur and Bissouma now here, the ship has sailed for him at Spurs I’d say. Can see him fitting into Pool’s midfield three, especially with Milner collecting his pension, Henderson not far off of that, Ox is **** and Thiago’s made of glass.

On the ball, he’s not good enough. Great worker with a brilliant engine but Spurs already have Hojbjerg

Looks like KingHotspur called Argentina spot on
(though I contend it took the Saudi result to really
get them to pull their fingers out and play to their
latent potential) .

It's a position that we're pretty overloaded in at the moment.
Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Bissouma, Skipp, Sarr and White for two spots in the team.
Even if Amrabat would be an improvement on any of the first four it wouldn't be a massive one, for me.
We've got other roles that need to be focused on first.

I hope that Hugo never regrets signing for Spurs and missing out on club trophies........keep those Argies out,Hugo!

Cracking goal, very surprised that Orsic:
A - hasn’t played/ started more for Croatia at the tournament

B- hasn’t gone to any of Europe’s top five leagues.

Scored 91 in 214 for Zagreb and speaks English.
Scored winning goals against us, the Spam and the blue scum.
He's 30 later this month though and signed a new contract in February.
Could end up replacing Zaha at Palace or something for the right price.
