Yep it's now down to the business end of the tournament.

Two classic quarter finals and also two hot favourites against plucky underdogs. Of course with my England hat on it would be great for Morroco and Croatia to progress but as a football lover it's difficult to really want that to happen.

Brazil to win this afternoon followed by a few beers and Argentina v Holland which is too close to call <ok>

It's great story and would of course be a historic achievement but....

Can it happen with more than simply hanging on for a 0-0 and then winning the shoot out please.

They’ve only conceded 1 goal all tournament and that was an own goal..that is their game, their strength. They don’t park the bus…they playing the rope a dope from what I can see. scored more goals than samba dancing silky Brazil in the group stages and won their group. Spanish had scored 9 goals in the group games…got choked out by the Moors.

Always find these sort of comments interesting.

Because if Morocco and Croatia are capable of beating Portugal and Brazil, why do they suddenly become an easier game for England?

Well probably because they will have progressed by strangling the game rather than going toe-to-toe.

Think of Greece when they won the Euros...a fantastic achievement no doubt but unfortunately stank the place out in doing so.

England wouldn't fare any better against a team doing that though. Reference the Euro's final last year.

And ultimately, Greece won the thing by doing that, so didn't prove to be an easier opponent for anybody.

If Morocco get past Portugal they could easily get past England. Although I do think Portugal are better and so will win.

Surely the object of a competition is to win it, and if you have to play with the only strength you have, that's more than England have done in nigh on 60 years.
