Tough on Egypt. I thought they deserved a point. Luis Suarez didn’t play well, but 3 points in the bag, they’ll be made up with that. Looking forward to the Spain game later, should be a good one or will they cancel each other out?

I think the Spain goal should have been disallowed as Costello blatantly pushed the defender in the face and I have seen yellows given for that. He was really unlucky with the shot that hit the under side of the bar but didn't cross the line. Cracking shot
Spain look to be controlling the game after a bright start from Portugal and it was slightly against the run of play that Portugal went 2-1 up just before half time. De Gea will not sleep well if Spain go out
Looking forward to the second half. At least both teams will be in the final 16

Spain were certainly the better side, it will now come down to how many these two beat Iran and Morroco who wins the group.
Ronaldo has had an up and down day. Has to give the Spanish tax authorities €18.8 million, has a suspended prison sentence hanging over him and then scores a hatrick in the World Cup......against the Spanish. That free kick was a brilliant strike but then some statto on the tellybox reckoned he'd had 44 previous free kick attempts in World Cups without troubling the scorers. He was due one.
As I said earlier, Spain were taking control and Portugal's 2-1 lead was against the run of play. Spain were the better side and at times it was starting to look like an exhibition of class football, but imo it was still a game worthy of the final. I doubt we'll see many more entertaining games in the next month
Not true but wouldn’t it be cool if ......... they asked Sir Geoff Hurst about Ronaldo’s Hattrick and he said, in Zlatan style “He hasn’t done it in a World Cup final though”
