hmmm , much more in attack from uruguay![]()
Although they're in the tough side of the draw it is absolutely staggering that the bookies have Uruguay at 14/1 and England (a game behind) on 15/2. Their strikers and centre backs are as good as any.
3/1 - 7/2 was my early guess of the price for a Columbia win in a close 50/50 match; is this the ninety minute price or to qualify for the quarter final?Be surprised if Uruguay or Brazil aren't lifting the ole Jules Rimet in a few weeks time. Englerland doing quite nicely but the Columbia game won't be easy, 3/1+ to the South Americans is a very generous price.
Far too clear, complete, concise and correct for my liking!Still looking for a genuine possibility of an upset in the ‘Round of 16’...
Spain cannot send Russia home as they are already there, but they will surely break their ‘lose to the hosts’ hoodoo here. There is an outside chance that Denmark could better Croatia but I just cannot see it.
Belgium ought to be able to end Far East involvement in the competition. Mexico will only have a chance of turning over Brazil if the latter takes them for granted while the former play out of their skins.
Sweden versus Switzerland looks the most even game on paper, so whoever wins would not be an upset. Possibly the best bet for a 90 minute draw but someone will wilt before it gets to penalties.
The only reason we would see defeat to Colombia as an upset is because they are playing England, who they have never beaten in a tournament. If their star player, Rodriguez, is absent we might get away with playing our non-star player, Sterling. Kane is still favourite for the Golden Boot but he needs to keep scoring!
Hope Uruguay go home soon. Boring side...game was all Portugal with possession but got to give Uruguay credit as they looked strong in defence and marshalled twinkle toes very well.
Suarez is still a cheat as could be clearly seen in this game. What a cock! Really hope they go out next round..

weird how some folk don't understand the art of defending , there was a masterclass on display last night , yet capt pops calls it boring !
Uruguay are a well balanced team with great defence and a lethal attack , boring they are not , you want boredom , tippy tappa gets on my wick !
All England players donate their England fees to charity, usually around £2k per match.Just read this on the BBC website:

"And it seems that Kylian Mbappe is quite a nice chap as well, according to a story in the Sun, donating his France match fees and bonuses to charity.
The 19-year-old gives away his £17,000 wage after every match because he does not believe he should be paid to represent his country.
What a guy."

OK, he's already a superstar and can certainly afford it, but certainly a pretty decent gesture, haven't noticed anything remotely similar from any others? It's starting to mount-up into a fair old sum of money the way France are going too. Hope he double-checks it goes to worthy causes, there are loads and loads of crooks around who will snaffle that at source?

Indeed - and many give a lot more on top. I'm not really a fan of singling out individuals for their generosity as it invites the inference that others in a similar position do not do the same. I guess it's tricky because a lot of charities like to publicise high profile donations as it encourages others to give. All England players donate their England fees to charity, usually around £2k per match.
