Not his biggest fan, but I thought he did well in a thankless role. Definitely well up to Div One standard.

Wee Gordon Strachan on ITV at the moment is the pick of the pundits for me.

That's because you are just about the only one who can understand what he is saying.

As much as I prefer the BBC coverage over ITV, Gordan Strachan and Hoddle are the best people to listen to in my opinion, then Seedorf for the BBC.

I just can't stand Chiles on ITV or Andy Townsend, I turn the tele on mute when Andy Townsend if commentating, man is an idiot

Yes it seems managers have thought more about the game, and give a more insightful viewpoint. I get irritated by bland observations of the bleedin' obvious, "He hit that shot very poorly and was probably disappointed not to have done better" sort of thing. I still miss Adebayor, in particular seeing Gary Lineker trying not to admit that he didn't understand a word.

Have a great time, Ponders. The World Cup is such a fantastic occasion that it's possible to experience football humiliation and still have the holiday of a lifetime. That's my experience anyway.

How come Hart has avoided criticism again?.... for somebody we are told is one of the top five keepers in the world he has had four shots to save in the Cup so far and hasn't managed to save a single one! The England defence looks shaky because the two central defenders seem to have no confidence in Hart....how many times did Cahill have to clear balls that should have been collected by Hart?

The stark fact is that you cannot win, or even progress, in a World Cup with a back 4 comprising of Fat Johnson, little Baines, static Jagielka & cumbersome Cahill. It is one of the worst back 4's out there. Bobby Moore would have had Suarez on toast last night. What other decent players did Uruguay have?

As for Gerrard...sorry..."Stevie G".....he did say that it was time that the England players "walked the walk"....and they are doing precisely that.

Back to the airport next Tuesday <cheers>

He didn't want to spoil his hair <ok>......... talking about hair, has a world cup game ever been delayed previously because a player was re-doing his pony tail? The ref should of had a word with the Uraguay right back <grr>

Looked like it in slow motion, but at real speed I thought he was just trying to spread himself, and cover the near post. The power of Suarez' shot didn't give him time to duck, or save or do anything.

Gerrard for me was the poorest again. Far too slow getting the ball forward and not allowing Sterling/Rooney/Sturridge to get in to dangerous positions to threaten them. All 4 of our attackers were forced to drop deep and it played in to Uruguay's hands.

rooney was still out of position. he doesnt have the movement of a deep number 10. he needs to play up top, or not.

else, we should have played 442 with his up top next to sturridge. we had months to perfect that formation.

gerrard needs to retire now. he's too prone to errors in big games

Italy will beat Costa Rica, England will also beat them, probably 3-0, only for Italy and Uruguay to play out an amicable draw.
