Personal opinion but would have Selby all day long over Ding, he aint the best potter in the world, but his overall game is exceptional, he just grinds opponents down with his safety play. I can't see Ding's composure holding up over 35 frames with Selby, we seen how Selby ground down O'Sullivan in the final 2 years ago, and I can see the same happening again.

Selby isn't favourite Ding is now, but I did say Selby as soon as Robertson was out, with O'Sullivan and Trump still ahead of him in the betting.

Selby isn't favourite Ding is now, but I did say Selby as soon as Robertson was out, with O'Sullivan and Trump still ahead of him in the betting. So I don't just pick favourites. I also told everyone that that odds on donkey Cue Card would not be winning at Punchestown, and guess what? I was right

Even with Don Cossack out that donkey Cue Card couldn't win, and you really expect me to believe he'd of troubled the Gold Cup winner had he not fallen <laugh>

I also doubt that Cue Card, for whom I have a soft spot, would beat DC Shergs but calling such a grand horse a donkey is rather cruel. Also bear in mind that just about every hotpot has been turned over this week. They can't all have turned into donkeys since Cheltenham. Must tell us something

PS. DC is Don Cossack. Not Detective Constable

Ever the master of the utterly stupid comment, Shergar, take a look at Cue Card's career record before you call him a donkey. Since I'm no gentleman like Ron, I would say that you're the ass, not Cue Card. CC was full of running when falling in the GC, he would have blitzed the ponderous Don Cossack up the hill, and that's my ****ing opinion, so get lost. <laugh>

I do beg your pardon, HammersmithJunior and others, I know this is a snooker thread and I did not start this horse manure conversation, but this guy would turn-up on a shoe repair thread, he really would. Apologies, again.

McManus making a mini resurgence? My ignorance had kind of placed Ding and Selby in the final but believe me, I would rather McManus and Fu reach it. It would be the equivalent of Leicester winning the PL for me in snooker.

Ding's playing out of his skin, just snookered himself on the final yellow when on 97,it would of been his 6th century of the semi already and would of tied the record for a semi-final.With the amount of frames left and the way he's playing,he's gonna make at least 1 more century ! Awesome.

7 centuries out of 14 frames thus far...If McManus can nab the last 2 what an interesting spin that would put on things.

Mcmanus digs in and knocks in a couple of fluid tonnes to boot to claw his way back to 9-7 behind!

A bit like when you're at the barbers and there's a fit bird leaning in to sort out the sideburns, we could yet have a semi on our hands!

Fabulous stuff from Angles,to reel off the last 4 frames of the session shows he's not going away, and might just put a seed of doubt in Ding's mind. We're definitely gonna find out if Ding's bottle is up to the task,Griffiths has got his work cut out tonight ! I'd really like McManus to win this tournament,he seems like a genuinely nice bloke.

Brilliant. Was afraid they might not needed the last session in that game but excellent from McManus to grind his way back. All to play for now.

Break the 8 centuries hopefully as well...

Very poor standard between Selby and Fu this afternoon,Fu is throwing his chances away. Both players are missing 5 or 6 chances each a frame!

Unbelievable,Fu's tip has come off mid frame as he was clearing up! Is there no end to Selby's luck?10 minute break while he puts it back on,was really looking like it was going to go 9-7 Fu,now who knows what's going to happen!

Very low on quality HJ. I thought this game would be the classier one but it's Ding and Angles who turned the style on. Still, either one won't mind once they get to the final.

Could be that Fu - Ding final you eluded to in a previous post.
