Yep,Mark King from Romford.Played in the world's a few times, but not for a while. You'd get good odds on it happening in the future!
never thought about that match all the years I've been watching the game. "It's going to be a close game this Fu - King final"
Ding smashes Williams 13-3 to win with a session to spare. I'm sure someone on here said he could be a danger to all !!
Comeback for Hawkins is on...will he repeat Taylor's feat in the final all those years ago and become only the 2nd person to win from 9-1 down...
Wow! Fu is as jittery as they get. Missed a straight forward brown and then a blue shortly after...Hawkins back to 12-10...great viewing on both tables currently.
Fu's gone to bits, can see Hawkins pulling off the miracle.Talking of miracles,McManus reeled off four frames on the trot to knock out Higgins.Twenty three years since he last reached the last four, amazing,at 45 years of age aswell.300/1 to win the title at the start,he's gonna have to go some to beat Ding but the ways things are going who knows!
That was an incredible clearance from Fu under that pressure, fair play to him.Yeah,it does seem like a weird tournament this year, after my bets went down I didn't really care who won,but as long as Selby doesn't win I don't mind any of the other 3 winning.A win for an Asian player would be incredible for the game, especially in the Far East, and a McManus win would be on a par with Leicester winning the Premiership in my eyes!
Some intense pressure snooker yesterday- will we see the fresher Ding and Selby pull clear in their semi finals, or can McManus and Fu make experience count and disrupt their flow? Big ask but what a story it would be.
I'll be rooting for McManus in this. Seems a decent sort, been in the game as long as I can remember and has taken out 2 tough competitors in Carter and Higgins.
Care to revise this statement ? Available at 16/1 at the start of the tournament,if he gets to the final that's half the odds already ! 6-2 up after the 1st session, looks good to me,wish I'd have done him.No coincidence that he looks a lot happier and calmer this year, now he's got Terry Griffiths coaching him, great coach.Every one of these players has got talent in spades, but it's the power in the mind that make's the champions !
I know could be made to look a little silly Dings always been abit fragile mentally, so we will see how his nerve holds up. Selby is still the guy I'd be with, as I think he's mentally very tough.
Selby is very tough mentally, but I can see a new found grit in Ding too.In the past he's flattered to deceive at the Crucible, but he has won 12 ranking events including 2 UK's and a Masters. There's no doubting the guy's ability and with Griffiths onboard to add some tactical nous and a calming effect,he has a pretty potent mix to lift the World crown.Plus let's not forget the fact that he hasn't got to overcome his nemesis Ronnie!
