As I've said before I think a small squad can be a good thing...I'm not a fan of rotation for the sake of it play your strongest eleven every game obviously you want decent subs but after that I would just rely on the youngsters as back up.

i dont think there is any need for a huge squad but we really do lack central midfield options. 1 injury and a 3 game suspension, which is not that unbelieveable would leave us with Tabb & Bru potentially. Thats not a thought I would like to become reality. if we had the same issue but had Wordsworth and Jack available I would feel alot happier about our prosepcts.

" Ambrose is a bit past it if you ask me.... "

Scored 5 in 11 in an absolutely garbage team in the top division in Greece.

Not his fault Brum wouldn't play him.

Still aged 30, more creative than anything we have, scores goals, great delivery and a free transfer. Yes please. This has zero to do with past Ipswich connections either.

" Squad was already small but now.......... He better have a few lined up!! "

Agree Spanish, a few required.... that said we do have Hunt/ Stewart to come back from injury so we're not uber thin on numbers longer term.

So we have now basically shipped out Nouble, Marriot, Wordsworth, Taylor, Lawrence and brought in Sammon, lets hope we dont pick up many injuries/suspensions!!

Now tbh none of the above are a great loss but they were backup, if MM replaces them with better then great but im not so sure, oh and i wish Tabb was on that list!!

Call me old fashioned, but wouldn’t the best time to put people up for sale be slightly earlier than two weeks before the transfer window closes?

Spanish to be fair to Tabby he's being played out of position on the wing.

I wouldn't mind seeing him with Hyam in the middle if Skuse is so off form.

MM appears to have ruled out moves for both Ambrose and Collison according to Sky Sports.

Pretty gutted about this to be honest.. I genuinely rate the guy. He isn't on big wages and offers something to the squad, something a bit different to the rest of our midfield. Given a run of games I am sure he would notch a few as well.

That said he probably wouldn't be enough to send us to the top of the league but still, seems a shame to let a lad go who seems to have offered brief glimpses when given the chance, particularly when he does offer something different to the rest of the central midfielders in the club

I do remember him as a teenager when i played in the colchester academy so maybe I have some sort of nostalgic view on him and think he is better than he is..

Never set the world alight but I'm dissapointed about this none the less. It seems any player who shows sone sort of attacking or footballing talent is shipped out of the club. I was surprised when Mick signed him actually, didn't seem a particularly Mick.like signing.

I don't think he's beem given much of a chance really, he looked very able.on the ball and certainly looked to have a goal in him (unloke the rest of our midfield). Think it's the fact he offered something different to our other workman like midfielders. And actually I think when he's been on the pitch with Hyam our.midfield look far more balanced and dynamic.

Hewitt to be the next one out of the door? He's far to good on the ball and attack.minded for a RB

    Your so old fashioned!!

The best time would have been at the end of last season, thus giving us plenty of time to find replacements and not having to panic buy/loan!!

Watch us sign 3 quality players now!! Heres hoping!!

    Ptc
No chance of getting rid of Hewitt as he is a defender that can be put in midfield, ticks all the boxes!!

    itfcptc -

based on what I saw of Hewitt at Reading he was absolute gash on the wing. Didn't press forward, didn't once try to beat his man or make an option of any kind.

The best time to put a player up for sale is after you've given them a chance and then decided he's not good enough. Not really bothered when that takes place, so long as it does.

He is definitely a fullback who can fill in on the wing. But what I've seen from him this season is he was far better defensively but nowhere near as good going forwards, perhaps he's had those attacking instincts beaten out of him

That doesn't mean it's not a sound strategy. Of course we could all say that this player or that player should never have been bought but if they are with us, give them a go and then ship them out when it doesn't work.

Oh i agree with you but that hasn't happened. I geuss like every manager Mick has his favourites but i geuss it's just more obvious who it's likely to be with Mick
