Aside from certain swear words, what words do you hate to hear and why? darling, can be made to sound so chavvy, i guess it depends if it's used in a genuine affectionate manner or not. dear, just sounds so condescending like darling Maybe both words could be described as frivolous comments and if you add 'my' to either of the above words then you are just strengthening the sarcasm.
Vulva. Come to think of it most of the female reproductive system is pretty gross sounding. Vulva Vagina Ovaries Uterus Cervix
I can imagine you being the sort of person that uses that word. That's not meant to be insulting btw, i just wonder if it's an age thing. I find that the use of the words are often used in a condescending even sexist manner or a way that depicts ownership of a person, i.e much the same as you admit to using it to your wife. She's mine so i can use it in a sincere way.... I remember a guy once calling a woman dear, her husband stepped in and told the person that he had been married to her for 30 years to use the word dear!
Americans with their use of have a good day, used to irritate me, always seemed so insincere and as though they were programmed like robots. Bit like McDonalds asking if you want to go large, or whatever the stupid phrase was.
It is complete bollocks though and completely insincere. It’s what happens when you rely on tips for a half decent living wage.
