Don't know that Nick - Llanelli are Turks, Swansea = Jacks & Neath = Blacks.

One theory is that soldiers from Llanelli were sent to fight the Turks in 1915. Another is that workers in the local Tinplate works used to wear rags around their heads because of the heat.

Neath always played in black if my memory isn't playing me up. Was going to say 'If my memory serves me well' but didn't want t parrot Bob Dylan

Yep - always played in Black. Here are some highlights (lowlights - we lost!) of the Swalec Cup Final in 1996 at the old Arms Park, which was full to capacity.

Thanks for that Taff...those were the days, even at my (low) level, I always loved playing in Wales, win, draw or usually lose.

A phrase I will never forget referred to the posts in the.Rugby clubs in the valleys as 'The Cathedrals of Wales'...Wonderful
