I believe that Long Products - Scunthorpe - produced and supplied the steel.
That business is now called British Steel.
Tata was so keen to offload Scunthorpe that they (wrongly in my view) gave in to the request/demand from Greybull (the Investment:VC/PE company) to have ownership of that ‘iconic’ name.
The remaining Tata businesses - and by far the largest part of the U.K. Steel Industry - is Flat Products. Coils used in, among others, the Automotive, Tinplate, Tube and Roofing & Cladding sectors/industries.
Scunny failed under Greybull, after a year in Government Control, the Chinese now own it
Greybull also bought Monarch Airlines and Comet Stores - both now long gone…,
