I was there 6 years later when Bennett scored under the posts in front of me.
I remember driving back the following day with the 3 lads who I went with and, as we approached Monmouth on the dual carriageway, the news on the radio reported that Peter Houseman - the former Chelsea wing had been killed in a car crash.
Two days earlier, little Johnny Morgan from Resolven - who had been in my class in the first year at Grammar School - had climbed onto the top of the railway carriage in Crewe and had been electrocuted .... That’s 44 years ago ....
