That first episode saw a ‘harder edged’ Columbo. In many ways, better than the ‘set formula’ of later years.

My first taste of Apothic (from Morrisons).
Very 'soft' dark berry/cherry taste (to me) and very sweet.

To be 100% honest, first impression is, it's not for me.
Do you mainly drink it with food?

Hey ho, you don't try, you don't know

<cheers>

Sorry to read that Nick. I’m with you re the dark berry/cherry taste but I don’t find it sweet. But hey, as you say, it’s each to their own and if you don’t try ....

That said, both Apothic and Cupcake (M&S) US red don’t taste the same as a year or two ago ....

I sometimes drink it after food.

Perhaps it’s time to try something else myself .... (but I’ve still good a few bottles to get through first<laugh>)

Absolutely no reason to apologise Taff, I was curious to try it out.
Re taste I finished off a bottle of Beaujolais Villages t'other day. A lighter wine altogether, lovely & refreshing.
Its ABV is/was 10.5%, whereas the Apothic is 13.5%>

Thereby lies the difference

Anyway, as Oscar suggests, "a man should try everything once, except Morris Dancing and Incest"
