Plus the advent of ‘Hedge Fund’ owners - people not known for their philanthropy.... Their focus is entirely cash driven and to ‘make a buck’. Well the Yanks are facing a huge loss on their investment in us, so are ensuring that the Club is (at worst) cash neutral, meaning they don’t have to inject any monies. Yes - I spoke with Peter Coates at the Liberty a couple of years ago. Seemed an ‘ok guy’ in the brief chat - spoke about the hotel in Barbados where we were at a couple of times at the same time (January). Seems he no longer goes there - and we go at a different time of year now. Bauble - ABBA* * - there will be a number of Dancing Queens on view at various grounds around the country today, no doubt.
