Thankfully, I have not read Don Quijote in either English or Spanish.

I had to read 2 of his Novelas Ejemplares: La Illustre Fregona (The Illustrious Kitchen Maid) as well as Rinconete y Cortadillo (They were 2 pickpockets - there are some thoughts that this short story was the inspiration for Oliver Twist)

Think I’ve mentioned on at least one occasion that Cervantes died on the exact same date as Shakespeare - albeit on different days! (England had a different calendar to Spain the time!)
