I seem to recall rock salmon and chips from my childhood at the fish & chip shop, and I liked it. Does that still exist as a fish choice? We used to also get sixpence of chips & bits at the chip price but with broken off pieces of battered fish included, not healthy but very tasty! Also recall, "a penny worth of fries" but that seems too cheap in old currency?

No on second thoughts that was my Dad telling me about "a penny worth of stale sticky buns" from his childhood growing up in Kilburn, Bradiston Rd then Fernhead Rd. He blamed that on his poor teeth being extracted for dentures going into WWII with the County of London Yeomanry, Sharpshooters Regiment located close to Loftus Road.
