Anyone on here been or lived there?

Been offered a job there and whilst the job seems fine the place looks a bit dull. I've only been once on a course at the same place so hopefully 1 of you lot can help me out

What was good about it? Or bad, if anything?

Like I say I only been once that was a 4 day course we stayed next to the cricket ground and because it was free bait the other lads stayed there, I had a quick walk into the town but that was it.

House prices are putting me off in that a slight wage increase means 100k extra for a similar house, but my job now is dead end and this 1 probably isnt

I was pissed for most of it but it's a really beautiful area.
I take it you're currently based in North East? If so anywhere further down is going to cost you a shed load more!

I have a two bed cottage that cost £400,000. I can imagine Worcester not being at that level but close!

North East yeah, I get the difference in wages/house price but I'd be doing the same job initially for £1 more an hour. So it makes no sense on that front but I think I could work my way up there, I'm good at what I do. Decisions decisions

General advice from an old (ish) man. If your gut reaction is to go, then go. Obviously check the finances are going to work but if you believe you have prospects there which you don’t where you are now, then what have you to lose? Weigh up the pro’s and cons including writing them down and see which wins. Only you can say. Life is full of risks and opportunities but you usually only get one bite at the cherry.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Thanks matey

I moved to the States when I was 21 when I had less to lose, living in the parents box room. Now, I'm sort of content with what I have, I was offered the job last week but sort of ignored it because of the wages to house scenario, but told the wife and she says if there's more opportunity there why not try it, she followed me from America to Jarrow so Worcester won't be a problem <laugh>

Visited Worcester in 2012. It's a very pleasant city with a couple of lovely Georgian neighbourhoods. Nearby Vale of Evesham is lovely and to the south and west there are beautiful areas too. It's the Midlands, though, and a little staid.
