might not go down too well here but i have just been reading up on it and sorry but i dont think they deserve it at all, its the equivilant to the Victoria Cross. (only 406 since 1940 have been giving out)

They deserve a medal but not this one im afraid.

Slightly different tack but how much has this been a media creation? Whenever an event occurs they have to find a hero/ine to jack up circulation a bit. When that helicopter hit the crane in London they were suggesting the pilot steered it away from school/hospital/ASDA suoerstore.Try making a helicopter go anywhere with no tail rotor.(Apart from the obvious direction)

To those of you who say no.
Put yourselves in these womens place & the selflessness they gave, bigger balls than many "men" on here.

I don't think anyone denies they were very brave to do what they did, but for a George Cross it needs to be something exceptional. The GC is pretty much the civilian equivalent of the VC. Remember this guy? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...hought-I-going-die--I-tried-kill-I-could.html
and this was deemed not worthy of a VC!
