I think the point he is trying to make, is that it's okay to have hardly anyone attend your matches, as long as they make up for it in singing and making noise...

But ringo, its like when we had Naughton. We developed him and wanted to keep him... but we couldnt. Thats the point of the loan system. You cant keep every loan star you have - we know we cant keep Michael Keane from utd - its the point of clubs loaning youngsters to develop. Wood went to you to develop, he was at your standard. This is now not Wumming but yo umust understand that we are at a higher standard and have more chance of holding a place in the premiership due to our squad, fanbase and owners, and he came to us as he is now good enough for us. If we dont go up, and he keeps improving, he will move on up once again. Thats player development.

I know how the loan system works, we've had Harry Kane,Andros Townsend and now have Adam Smith from Spurs all here to develop and we understood that they were never for sale.
We had Jason Puncheon a couple of years back who was not wanted at Southampton on loan with a few to a permanent move if things worked out, it worked out but Southampton got greedy and ended up loaning him to Blackpool instead.
With Wood he was surplus to requirements and nearing the end of his contract, again it worked out(too well) and West Brom got greedy.
Maybe in future if we take a player on loan with a view to a permanent move, a price should be thrashed out at the beginning.

.. although in fairness there are still 265 days to go ...<whistle>

.. but stepping back a little from the pettiness for a minute; we need to be a little more circumspect on this ... if Millwall HAD outbid us on his wages and had also convinced him that they could and would be going on a spending spree in a bid to secure premiership footie next season - then I suspect his choice might well have been different - and the size of our attendences versus theirs would have counted for diddly-squat ... call me cynical, but many (if not most) footballers these days are merely trying to make as much as they can as quickly as they can .........

What do you mean, won any trophies as yet? Since our new owners have come in? No, we haven't.

In the entire history of our club, yes, of course have.

How did west brom get greedy? Also it wasnt with a view to a permanent deal, as that means a price has been agreed. No offence but a better club offered him a better package - both financially and football-related.

What a totally ridiculous post. We have won the championship 6 times in 1925, 1937, 1954, 1957, 1971 and 1980. We were league 1 champions in 2009. We won the football league cup in 1964, 1997 and 2000. We won the FA charity shield in 1971.

A simple google can tell you that. That sir, is why you are 'thick' after saying that we havent won anything.

Well yes. You said we havent even won anything. That normally relates to trophies in a cabinet. You might as well say "you havent won any trophy this month".

Only 1 team can win a competition a season so if you dont include the past then it applies to almost all clubs in the FL and premiership.

Ed try thinking before you type, or at least read whats in front of you<doh>.
Early days for you with Wood, once the honeymoon period is over he could become another Beckford, that one we shall see, come March our paths will cross and we'll be able to see how things have panned out then won't we?

Youve got what im saying all wrong. The point is you were saying he shouldnt have chose us over you when quite frankly he is playing for a bigger club who the bookies have made 2nd favourite to win the league. Then you made a claim that we have never won anything which is proved to be wrong. Why are you even on here with your bitter views?

Are you for real?, with the money you've spent and paying out in wages you should be odds on favorites, interesting that you bought up the gambling aspect of things as that is what your owners are doing gambling the clubs future on the understanding they will get their investment back should you reach the premiership.
    See you in March.

Its only gambling if you cant afford to do it. NP came in and moved out the big earners, not as we cant afford it, but as he didnt want the club operating like that. Do you really think we are paying more to players than the likes of Kazim-Richards, Nuno Gomes, Pederson, Bellamy, Olsson? your posting about things that you dont know about.

Im not saying that we shouldnt be, but youve kind of shot yourself in the foot there as your saying that the bookies are right and we are likely to go up... now see why Wood came to us? Its because we are more likely to go up.

You also didnt answer why you are on this board. By all means feel free to contribute with well balanced comments, but crawl back to your board if you have no idea what your talking about which you have proved so far.

Whilst it is obviously difficult to predict the longer term strategy of owners etc I do get the feeling from ours that their motives are more akin to a 'hobby' than a desire to make money from a sell on - but you never know.

You are a bit wide of the mark in terms of us being 'odds-on favourites' based on what we have spent etc - we couldn't (or wouldn't) compete with Blackburn's £8million on one player (Jordan Rhodes) - but we should certainly be one of the favourites given our financial backing - but the club is also being kept on an even keel in that, as well as splashing out on Woods wages we have done excellent business over the past 18 months in picking up Wes Morgan on a free, plucking a gem like Anthony knockaert from comparative obscurity and shrewd dealings in the transfer market for the likes of Drinkwater, Marshall, James and De Laet. we now have a much younger, hungrier squad with a fair dose of quality running through it too.

I came on the board to read about Wood's wages originally seeing as it was us who got him back on track.
Apart from Bellamy all of them players have just dropped down from the Premiership and the signing of Rhodes would have come from the parachute money Blackburn recieve over the next 4 years.
I'm free to contribute to any board i like whether you like what i say or not, as you are.
Ed you come across as a prick, but saying that FosseFilberto puts his point over well.

On here i normally post well-balanced sensible views, but you have come over and just been totally ridiculous talking about things you dont understand. I enjoy others peoples fans coming over for a discussion but you are clearly nothing more than a bitter fan who cant get over losing a loan player to a bigger club.

You then complained about our wage structure despite the fact we have shipped out Danns, Beckford, Mills etc and NP also tried to replace Konch if i remember right but was unable to and instead have bought in young improving players whos values have done nothing but increased.

You then claimed we 'havent even won anything' which we clearly have, as my post said.

I may come across as a prick, yes, but at least its a prick on my own board who actually knows what he is talking about.
