Got two for millwall so far tonight. Think there will be a long queue in jan for his signature. Hope we are at the front.
Would Millwall sell him? Some people seem to assume we could have whoever we want in the Championship. Why would Millwall not want to push on for promotion like us come January?
He'll go to Leicester and get them to the Premier League, then be loaned back to the Championship by September 2013 after they spend their Chinky's millions on someone else.
I'd say promotion would be nailed on if we signed him, seriously a great player at this level with potential for the PL.
Lots of results seem to be going our way at the moment, especially ours! If Millwall don't sign Wood in January they're ****ed. The only positive for them would be that he's already scored enough to secure them as a championship team for next season. I really can't see him staying there though, fair play if he does and i'd respect him for it but he must realise he'll get a better chance of promotion elsewhere.
Ah, fair play didn't realise that! Surely they're hoping to extend the loan then? Or would they have first snap at a purchase?
I agree with your comments St Louis, it'll be a pretty big shock if he stays at Millwall. The amount of clubs in the championship looking for a striker of his style and quality is enormous. I'd like Leeds to try and sneak in there but our current league position I think is what will be the negative factor for playrs in January unless it improves before then of course
Apparently Millwall have first option on him, also they have a bit of money these days from America. I was working with a guy who is a Millwall fan up until last week, he was saying that he met the owner & they're originally looking at £1 million but as it's standing now they could be priced out or have to break they're money structure on a gamble for somewhere in the region of £4 million. Remember Simpson was on fire when he was there a few years ago, then we sign him & he was ok but not prolific. He would be a gamble either way, but whoever we go for will be a gamble if we sign them.
Just seen this on SSN http://www1.skysports.com/football/...West-Brom-in-their-efforts-to-land-Chris-Wood
Their manager is an idiot. "If we take our bid off the table, which is worth well over £1million - that's not including a sell-on clause either - and West Brom end up selling him for half that in the future, they will look stupid. That's the biggest danger really, looking stupid. "I know Huddersfield are in there but Chris has a flat in London." What they dont have flats outside of London? Also is he dumb? Clearly there is 0 chance that west brom only get a half a million for him.
