What strikes me as particularly odd, is that when you talk to him normally, he's a very affable easy going bloke. I don't understand why he doesn't just behave exactly the same way when there's a microphone or a camera in front of him.
He doesnt trust the media at all. He has already said that live on air, he thinks if he is open and honest they will twist his words and use them against him. Look what the media did to Sven when he was the England manager
Funny you say that because in my previous post I was going to add that I think it's the "character" he wants to portray. I think he talks tough with the team and therefore as to carry that character into the media too. He always had a reputation as a tough, no-nonsense player and I think that's what he wants to be as a manager too. I think it's important to instill a bit of fear in the players to keep them on their toes - all the best managers do it. Whereas some very good tactical managers fail to instill that respect, a bit like Hodgson at Liverpool and probably Sven with us actually.
Haha now we know you're joking. Pearson has us playing sone of the most attacking attractive football in the league
Has Stringer ever asked a manager what negatives he can take from a game? (yes, one of our lot asked that in a post match interview)
