Women's Euros

Anyone watching this?

Flicked over tonight for the first time and it's absolutely shocking. I'm not one of these people who say women can't do the same things as blokes, but my God the standard of this game at least is awful - and all I've heard on the news are people claiming that women should be allowed to compete with the men. In the last 10mins, the possession is turned over after 4 passes max; it's miss control, miss pass, hoof into a space where there's no player. Sometimes there's a player marked in the box.

I think Downing would just about be a first team starter, mind you.

Also Rachael Yankey won an award for being the most capped player of all time for England over taking Peter Shilton.....FFS

 

The technically gifted player's really stand out,watched a bit of Spain
and Boquete was excellent and a fit Kelly Smith is very good.

Know what you mean though,generally bloody poor.

Women have lesser spacial awareness than men, just a physiological fact, like with parallel parking a car. Keeping is very dependent on spacial awareness, of course there will be the odd exception but generally women will make poor keepers.

The women's international game has two teams of note, the US and Germany. Germany went 10 years or something without losing a competitive game I think, and the US just had yer one who beats the crap out of the other team.

 

Come on then, who are the hotties? That's the subtext here!

 

Women's football is like mens but in slow-mo. Just watch how unpowerful the shots are, and the keeper reaction times.

 

Hope isn't bad, I've seen worse male goal keepers too

Actually think downing would struggle anywhere!

The goalkeepers.....laughable.

 

England are losing 1-0 to Russia, the second half just starting. Russia are the lowest ranked team in the competition. England haven't had a very good Summer thus far have they.

 

The Russian No. 10 looks like Nando
