'There are plenty of good teams to watch' but not England. Who reckons the FA will appoint Stuart Pearce and let Hope Powell manage the mens under-21s.

Have to say, of the small amount of time I watched, it wasn't all down to the players. There were so many basic errors that could be taken care of by proper coaching. France were on a totally different level.

Should have been 12-0 based on the clear cut chances France had. Wouldn't have flattered them.

French players were twice as fast, twice as strong and twice as organised as England. How the hell were some "experts" saying before the Tournament that England were one of the favourites!? Worst team there more like.

but its warming to see the English ability to overhype yourselves and fail miserably is as effective throughout all levels of the game from Mens senior to youth to womens.

    Makes ya proud.

    Sack no hope.

I so wish one if the papers uses "No Hope" as a head line. Shame her name isn't 'Idea'

I reckon our Nigel [old habits] should do it part-time. The Women or the Men's U21s. Blimey, their feet wouldn't touch the ground. No stone would be left unturned in an effort to improve them. :)

I still can't believe what a complete wasted opportunity this was. It's done woman's football a massive disservice.

I don't think so. I think England have done what England do.

The other teams seem to be doing okay for themselves...

What a load of pony that was. I gave chick football a chance on your recommendation and I've wasted 6 hours of my life watching that. They need to stop, seriously stop, trying to play a mens game.

Disgraceful that due to poiltical correctness gon mad we are paying the BBC to broadcast that .

The game needs a radical rethink and for once I agree with sepp blatter, the game needs glamming up. Shorter shorts, and athlete type short tops, would be a start. I would follow Adrian Durham's advise and allow blokes in goal. Just trying to copy the mens game is clearly a hopeless model to follow. A radical overhaul of the game is needed. They should also put a chick game on pre mens games, a few glamorous dolly birds playing their version of the game could bring the blokes into SMS earlier and bring much needed publicity. It needs to be fit chicks though, even if they're not that good, half the fun will be watching them fall over ECT. I would also let celebs play, someone like Helen flanaghan or Abu titmuss, one celeb per team.

The game needs to think out of the box, cause the rubbish they serve up at the moment will attract nobody.

Are you a Scot or a Taffy? You're certainly miserable enough to be a Scot and nowhere near articulate enough to be a Taffy.

    I am English.

Thanks for the casual racism in your comments.

You seem to be the next one to be getting a bit obsessed about what I write. Relax mush.

I only call someone "sir" if they've earned my respect.

You'll need to work very hard on that mush.

In all honesty, Ducky, I can't blame you for having a negative perception of women's football after that showing and fair play for giving it a goal. All I'll say is don't take the appallingness of England as a benchmark for women's football as a whole. Just remember how rubbish the England men's team is and anyone would be silly to take that as a benchmark for men's football. Watch a couple of WSL games, preferably ones including Arsenal, and you'll no doubt see a much better game. Arsenal v Liverpool could be good maybe.

As for your ideas, I completely disagree with them, as they'd really be turning women's football into a joke, especially the celeb part. And tbf, there's less falling over in the women's game than the men's game. That's part of the reason I like it, much less diving. And also, some female goalkeepers are quite good. Pompey's for example.

That's at U-17 level, to use that to claim to women's goalkeepers are terrible is beyond ridiculous.

    What's that supposed to mean?
