Yes excellent film that seems to set the truth correctly imo... it was a shambles yet we were all raised on the belief it was all planned it was in fact the chaos my grandfather told me about.

No wonder he was ousted after the war
Says a lot

I was interested to read that he did return as Prime Minister later though.

I agree, it’s a bit like the myth that most of the French were Nazi hating resistance fighters.....just not true

Luongo and Smyth likely to still be out with injury tomorrow according to WLS.

True. I thought it was very realistic and quite frightening in its content.

The only scene for me which seemed full of pathos and less plausible was the tube ride and "meeting the people". However someone wll probably tell me that it was not artistic license, but was actually true.

I apologise for the film review comments on the match thread. However, it is a reflection of my expectations for this match. I will now try to neatly integrate the two.

Even if Winston himself made the pre-match and half time team talks, I doubt if we will win. I am glad that the BrixtonR predictor thread is not yet posted as I have not made up my mind if we will lose 0-2, 0-3 or by more. I am planning to watch the match on the latop via QPR+, but expect to be more focused on the rugby that will be on the TV.

But we are QPR and we are so predicatably unpredicatable and ...
.. and it is is the "hope" that kills you!

COYR's!!!

From LFW, love that game from 1973, never get tired of watching it.....

The great QPR side of the 1970s was infamously denied the First Division league title in 1976 when Wolves were beaten at home by Liverpool in a game that took place more than a week after the rest of the league games had been completed. But for the purpose of this column let’s focus on a happier memory from Molineux from two seasons previous when our club’s greatest ever team but the home side to the sword despite only sitting 14th in the league at the start of play.

I am told it was indeed artistic licence but perhaps someone will confirm?

It’s a really good film.

Agree though that scene seems bollocks. The tube just hangs around for him to get off and takes about ten minutes to go one stop.

We have many insights as budding film critics, but are there any ideas on the formation?

I expect to see us play Ollie’s beloved 3:5:2, but with a defensive and pressing focus. So probably the front two will be faster players to press and make counter accounts.

Hopefully we can play the same way as we did when we beat them earlier in the season at HQ, high press, in their faces approach, don't allow them time to settle and knock the ball around. They are not unbeatable at home as Forest proved a few weeks ago........

Don’t know who taught you history but I have never heard Dunkirk described as a planned operation or a victory. Heroic, yes.

Yeah I expect he’ll go with Super Wash and Oteh with a view to throwing Smith on at some point.

I’m going to West Ham v Watford to tick off ground 73/92.

I think you may be correct. Enjoy your match!

I have just returned from a long walk and I am now preparing for an afternoon of armchair sport. Today I am really spoilt for choice with the Olympic ski jumping, the north London derby, the rugby ... plus the R’s.

the odds are against us and normally I should be saying that we would lose 3-0 but Hollow seems to be hanging in there.
Had this feeling all week that we might knick something. 0-1 to the R's.
