As Hampy says, eight points clear of danger, seven away from a miracle. Nice to see the weasel get slapped 3-0 today too. Unlucky Norwich score three and still lose. Got my wish of a 2-0 scoreline and I am one happy blue.
Well warky I was unsure about micks appointment but the man has turned our fortunes around and if it wasn't for such an atrocious start we'd be in a much healthier position. But he knows this league and what it takes to get out of it and although it may be too late this season perhaps he can have us mount an assault next season. I'd like us to go all out to keep dj. I'm sure most of us would. We now wait with baited breath to see what and who January brings.
Mick should have been appointed in the summer but hey what's done is done and I'm just loving this after 5 years of complete and utter garbage that we have all had to suffer. Play-Offs aren't out of the question until the Math prove otherwise!
Mick was obviously attracted to Ipswich because we don't just fire managers willy nilly. He was smart enough to stay away from Forest or Blackburn and will now have the support and resources to bring success to Ipswich. In a funny way I'm glad we've had a long time of suffering before we finally made this appointment, it makes it all so much sweeter to have Mick now and feel lucky to have attracted a quality manager after the last five years. I've got my Ipswich back and it feels great!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a long shot but we've seen it done before with palace and reading. We could rightly call mick the messiah then if he got us top 6. And warky your right after the absolute guff we've endured lets puff our chests out and be proud to be blue again.
Well done lads, great result today Ours was a bit of a roller-coaster, they are a very good team on their day though!
Cheers dave, just up the road from me in wsm. How did you end up. I was thinking you were in for a hammering after going 2 down in fourminutes.
Just a few weeks ago I was saying that we didn't have any quality players etc. What a difference a new approach (Mick's no nonsense way) a different system (4-4-2) a recognised right back and two players in different positions (Murphy and Edwards) can make. I think it helps not chopping and changing the team every week too. I'm always happy to be proven wrong if it means better times at Portman Road. Well done to everyone involved at ITFC.
I'm sure that wily fox Lambert is just lulling us into a false sense of security and he will finally field his proper first team against us!
There was a photo of him at today's game on the BBC site, I have never seen anyone look more distraught! It's painful to see someone that we owe so much to, suffering so badly!
Yeah he did look like a haunted man at the end and If we pull off a shock next week in the cup it could well mean the bullet for him! Now that would be a delicious irony!
Got no sympathy for a man who is only out for himself and shows no loyalty to people who have helped him get where he is. Glad to see Norwich doing well without him, even more happy to see him failing. The grass isn't always greener Mr Weasel.
And equally, until the maths (we're not feckin Americans!) prove otherwise relegation is not out of the question either.
Very true Hampy, my son has been telling me tonight that if all the results go our way on Tuesday we could be up to around 14/15 place..............."So long as we win son".........
