Is the Donny vs Leeds League Cup game on over there tomorrow (Thurs)? It is here. A mate of mine who played for them both is hopefully coming round to watch it - cheap sod won't stump up for the channel. Whichever team he supports on the night I'll be able to take the piss out of him - love it.
I have the same but you have to subscribe to BEIN Sports which is on channel 525. It's "SOCCER" here in Oz mate as the word 'football' is synonymous with Australian Rules - and always will be. Some channels have put us under 'football' as the others are listed under AFL - NFL - etc. but we will always be "Soccer" here hence the "Socceroos".
The official term here was changed to football over a decade ago, which is why the national body is the FFA not the SFA.. but carry on.
I'm Queensland and they call Aussie rules football and also rugby league football. But they call football soccer. I love living in the country, sometimes the Australians ruin it though.....
Finally got it working Laurie. They were changing their streaming platform in Canada that's why I couldnt log on. Just watched the last part of the Lille v PSG game. Great picture...very clear. City v Wolves is on at 7am EST on Sunday here in Canada...4 am on West Coast...ouch!!. My first look at our new boys. Doesn't look like the Gray talks are going anywhere unfortunately. But Hernandez suspension ends after this game so maybe he'll still be around.
That's great mate. We get it at 9.00pm so, like you said, will get a first look at some of our new blokes.
BeIN Sports is part of the overall sports package on DirecTV, which is essential, especially since it includes NBCSports, Fox Soccer Plus and the two Fox Sports Networks, which are carrying Bundesliga this year. We already had BPL, Serie A, La Liga, and a game or two each week of Ligue 1, SPL, and, of course, Championship. Last year I even got one game per week from Scottish Championship, though it was Rangers 80% of the time.
Well your a bit backwards then Kevin, because Soccer as you call it has been called Football in Aust for 10 years+. Sydney Tiger is spot on here. Aussie rules, Union, League and, "soccer", are all called football Here in Australia
