I would have been and am shocked, yes and well done to all concerned, 4 points I honestly did not expect...
Me! I think I predicted 0 points this week so to gain 4 away from home against 2 sides that are expected to be in the promotion/ play off mix come May is a great effort. Well done!
I just watched the stream as did not get there in person tonight. We went toe to toe, second half we were a credit to the shirt brilliant. Bring on the Derby
Another good result, well done City, the team are starting to show what a super job our coaching staff are doing...LJ said he needed 3 transfer windows. #JohnsonIn
Four points from 2 consecutive away matches will do it every time. Now we go back to the Gate and need to build on these 2 good results - you know you want it.
Shame we couldn't hold on at 3-2, but would've been very harsh on Wolves. Good result still & nice that we're navigating these 'tough on paper' fixtures. Beating Derby would really be a statement of intent if we could pull it off...
Have to say 2 games I thought we were gonna struggle with so to win one and nearly win the other was a pleasant surprise , if we can now do well against Derby who knows, not gonna get to excited though as I seem to remember we started well last year as well.
To be honest I expected no points from 2 tough away games - so to get 4 is really good Things seem to be going in the right direction
I would have bitten anyone's hand off for 4 points from these 2 games so well done lads. Having seen the Wolves equaliser for 3-3, LJ needs to look at who was supposed to be picking Baath up. Shocking shocking defending !
'twas only in the League Cup though, so not sure how much to read into that - lots of changes made to their team that beat Hull 5-0. Doing my usual snooping on oppositions forum, they seem pretty confident, with the majority predicting they'll win, with some draws but barely any thinking they'll lose. Whilst I appreciate we're hardly big fish in the Championship, you'd think that teams would give us more credit than that, but then, I love it when fans spout off about how they'll win by 2 or 3 goals and then get brought back to Earth with a bump. It seems as though Derby are a bit inconsistent this season, so whilst likely to be a difficult game as always, if they're not at the races, there's a good chance of us picking up points.
5 points at home and 5 away so far. Exceeded most of our expectations so far. We do need to capitalise on this on Saturday. We got 2 great results but still find ourselves 12th which given we have only lost once doesn't really quite do justice. We have 4 draws out of 7 but last year, those draws would have been likely to have been defeats-So I do feel that improvement has been achieved. Need to keep this up as we dont want another run like last year!
I think we've only mildly exceeded expectations over the entirety of the seven games so far. The leagues still very tight, so a couple of wins could propel us nicely into the playoff spots, whereas a couple of defeats could plunge us into lower mid-table obscurity. Definitely positives so far, but we are walking a bit of a tightrope - 4 points over the next three games would be okay, but hoping for one or two more, which would be a good total for the opening ten games.
Having seen the highlights I reckon LJ has every right to be disappointed with the defending on display. All 3 of Wolves goals (and our first goal) were down to really really poor defending. I still feel Taylor can't cut it at this level, an awful miss that was repreived by BR poking home, reminds me of Tammy bailing out his howlers last season. Time to move him on for me.
