Did well at Sunderland and Birmingham until they hit the top 10 at both, then couldn't sustain it.

Walter Smith has just turned down the Wolves job, so it looks like they will have no choice but to go for Bruce:biggrin:

Sarcasm went right over your head. If and when SAF goe's they will go for a big name, who is proven in winning things. One day OGS will get his chance, Keano and Brucie will never get a chance to manage Man U. <ok>

I'm not sure why this (of all threads) was removed from or board but maybe folks are just getting sick of cross-board threads which seem to have increased a lot lately.

Anyhoo - I've never really have any views on Wolves one way or the other but I have to admit to a certain schadenfreude over the way Wolves have seemingly shot themselves in the foot... smacks of arrogance to sack teh manager without a successor lined up and even more so to offer such a short-term contract to a potential manger they hope will save them. Can't see anyone wanting it unless they're desperate.

That was exactly why, there is a lot of cross board threads between Newcastle and Sunderland fans. A lot of them about pointless repetitive comparisons about certain matters. Mind you given the amount of interaction on our board we need any threads we can get.

I can't think of anyone who would be desperate enough to take up the position under such circumstances, I agree they may have shot themselves in the foot, Mick McCarthy was dignified to the last over his sacking hats off to him for that, but the Wolves board may regret this.

Sacking the manager is not always the solution, look at Nottingham Forest after Billy Davies, no secret that he didn't get on with the Forest Board, they continuously kept him on a shoestring budget, they always seemed to miss out in the play offs, so they sacked him, now they are struggling against relegation, a little more cash injected may have made the difference.
Leicester on the other hand, multi changes of Manager, money spent, mid table mediocrity.

Great minds Reg, when I saw that Wolves were getting knocked back again, I thought the same.
My dislike of Clarke will never go away, but like you say did little wrong at Huddersfield.

    PS.

How come when peace broke out, this was removed from our board?

My paranoia is getting worse. :p
