The slow reaction doesn't help - and its FF so people will highlights his previous cheating.. I would be as annoyed that he basically wasted time getting somebody sent off which only served to wind them up really.. I notice Wolves play Derby soon - probably do with Sako playing TBH as it might help us (and Wolves)! Didn't get a good view of the Hoban sending off but maybe harsh? Overall a decent point and we played better in the 2nd half. Sloppy first goal and the 2nd was deflected which didn't help Gomes. Hopefully Abdi isn't out for long.. Interesting to see if Ingalo comes back in when fully fit as Vydra has hit form.
A good result marred by the disgraceful antics of Forestieri. If he wants to help the the team he should concentrate on assisting his teammates to score goals (or score himself) rather than assisting in getting fellow pro's sent off by play acting and sowing further seeds of doubt into the minds of the officials. Numpty.
I suppose I would have taken a point before the game but i'm still disappointed. Brilliant to come from behind twice but with all the last minute goals we've scored lately I'm getting greedy and wanted another one! Hoban makes me nervous but by many accounts had a good game, interesting to hear not everyone thought so. So disappointed about Fessi but he has to be punished for that, it was outrageous. Surely Sako will be back on the pitch next Saturday I hope ighalo is fit next week! I'd pay 4-3-3 and use all our non cheating strikers. Mad league this season!
FF must be seen to be disciplined by the club, we are quick to condemn such play acting by other players/teams otherwise we will lose all respect and continue to get the rough end of referees decisions.
Mind you quite how the ref saw that as a sending off is beyond me it was so obviously play acting that the ref clearly needs to go to spec savers.
Don't need players like FF at the club .. totally shameful behaviour ... This sort of play acting deserves a 6 month ban . I suspect Joka would have given him a frightening bollocking . If the footballing authorities ( both World and British ) were not such a band of clowns , this "gamesmanship " would have been stamped out years ago . I suppose we have to ask the question ...Is professional football a sport or merely a money dominated pantomime ? A good point at Wolves .. and an exciting finish to the season for half a dozen clubs . The tightest division of all time ?
was he yellowed for the dive? and the wolves player second yellowed for the foul before that? if so then the ref saw it correctly etc etc no excuse for it all though.. on your first question above..... football has become a money dominated pantomime.... sadly... ... and yes,,, the tightest div i can remember
Embarrassing from FF and rightly condemned. Hopefully Joka will have a word. Probably born out of frustration from both lack of playing time and possibly injustices against the team in recent months, but still no excuse for it. Could possibly now have a detrimental affect to the team as no doubt will be marked as divers and could affect future decisions against us... Not that we get too many anyway Unfortunately will get a lot more press than what happened outside the ground after the match though
Thoughts go out to the Watford fan in hospital with serious head injuries after being attacked by Wolves thugs. Awful.
Just saw this on twitter, first I'd heard of it! Coupled with the Villa match yesterday, please tell me we're not slipping back to the 70's and 80's
Sadly there are still clubs where this kind of mindless thuggery still flourishes. From my relatively recent experience they include L*t*n (of course), Millwall, Cardiff, Swansea, Sheff Utd and Wed, Leeds (of course), Burnley, Barnsley, Forest, West Brom and Wolves. This is mostly down to inadequate policing, stewarding and a blind-eye turning by these clubs (regardless of how much they may protest). They still have a significant minority hell-bent on "bovver" - maybe an old-fashioned term but still much in vogue for these so-called fans. I suspect many other Horns fans have similar experiences at more clubs.
Also walked back to the station with 2RJ Jnr and saw a couple of filth by the away pub but no trouble. However a couple of ours were chanting were firmly advised by a local that this might be a bad idea. A cautionary approach is always advisable when on our travels. Over 2000 'orns made it a good day out but the lack of a peaked cap meant it was a Seargant Major afternoon like in the EJ at times. Thought we might have picked up the pace after our second though as a win was on the cards at that point
http://www.wolvesforum.co.uk/showthread.php?27784-Watford-Fan-in-Hospital Wolves fans also think this is shocking
FF' behaviour was disgraceful. He could do himself, WFC and football a favour by... 1) Writing a letter of apology to the FA, to WFC, to wolves. 2) Supporting sako in his appeal 3) Voluntarily suspending himself for 2 matches (say) to show he needs to learn. None of this is likely to happen, but if ir did, it would be a significant step. Having said all that, it wasn't any worse than Hoolahan's nasty little playacting, which might end up costing WFC several 10's of millions. I have not seen any violent or unpleasant even behaviour at a football match for several years. I used to dread walking through that underpass by molineaux. Now, I was able to exchange sensible words with a couple of wolves fans. They were pretty unhappy with Fessi, but also with Sako. So I am shocked. The person in question was in an odd place to be walking back to the station but that is no excuse - maybe part of an explanation though. were hthey enganged in an escalating row, or was it unprovoked? As to the game... 1) Hoban did mightily well against a faster tricky player, often on his own with wolves having players in support. 2) His first booking was wrong - hence the sense of injustice. His 2nd was obvious. 3) Wolves had a right go at us - we did well, and could have won, realistically. Munari's header was the best possibility, + watto's shot against the bar. 4) we always (now) finish games well - good signs for the run-in. 5) The squad is strong. Yesterday, anya, Ighalo, Ekstrand, Layun were all missing. + Pidil, whi os quite capable. 6) Paredes had a good game. 7) Toszer was quiet . 8) Vydra looked like his old self - took his chance really well. To the future... 1) It's in our hands! Only bournemouth can finish above us if we win all our games. Unlikely, but so it is for the others as well. 2) boro have to play all 5 of top 6, derby are wobbling without Bent AND Martin. 3) norwich are the main threat, and bournemouth as they seem to have refs in their pocket - somehow. It is shaping up to be one of the best seasons to be a WFC supporter ever! Cheers all
