Nothing against him as a player at all. I just think he's the oldest-looking 32-year-old I've seen since... well, since Nancy Dell'Olio last claimed to be 32.
Davies matched Oxlade- Chamberlain for pace at one time during the match so I am sure Dudge could when he is up to full fitness.
I think we'll get Marcos Alonso next season either on loan or on a permanent deal if the right one can be struck. Fryatt might just get a year extension but it wouldn't surprise me if he moves to a Championship side if offers come in for regular first team football. I think Aluko will move on as I am not convinced that he is happy here playing second fiddle. Sagbo went to the same "School for Strikers" as Altidore and I cannot see him featuring much next season. I believe that Steve Bruce has certain players ear-marked especially up front as we desperately need someone who can put the ball in the net more than 3 times a year. Livermore is a 'better than evens' chance of signing full time but not if Spurs up the asking price. I feel that another 'engine' in mid-field, an attacking winger and another forward will be the priority with a loan deal being the preference. Should be an interesting 'close season' for us with a bit of a clear out (Proschwitz has to go) and there would surely be some players we would be interested in being available on a 'free'.
Sagbo's a better footballer than Altidore, but I agree that he has the same issues with shooting, he only seems to take a pop when he's directly in front of goal.
Anyone tempted to wave goodbye to Aluko? His injury record is appalling and he represents really poor value for money. I like him as a player, but you can't shell out PL wages for a player you see on the pitch as often as Bullard. What is his latest setback? Hamstring?
Sagbo doesn't work hard enough for me closing down opposing defenders when we don't have the ball. That said you get for you pay for and he's a good squad player to have around unless Brucey brings a direct replacement in. I suspect that a number of 'fringe' players who would otherwise be shown the door will be needed in the event of Europa League as we will need another 4-5 players beyond what we would otherwise need.
Sagbo can be a reet greedy ****, if he can shoot or pass to someone in a better position he'll shoot every time. Did it twice against Fulham. But there's no comparison between him and Altidonkey, except colour code of skin pigmentation. Back to TigerRoo's post, I'd be happy with Marco Alonso, he's not been the best and got terrorised by Elmo this season, but he's young and has the makings of a good left back. Maybe not the regular starter we need but if we can get a similar option at right back, between the 2 new boys and Rosey and Elmo we'll do alright there and also be building for the future. I'd like to see us sign Gary Medel, precisely what we need to protect the back four and act as a platform for the other midfielders (Tom) to push forwards and cause problems behind enemy lines.
Sagbo's positional sense is poor, but he's better than Altidore. I hope Fryatt takes the contract extension we are offering him. I would be tempted to take £3 Million from Palace if they are offering that for Aluko who, while being great when he is at his best, is too injury prone for my liking. If offers came in for Quinn, Dudgeon Figueroa and Jak I would let them go. I don't think we will renew Faye's contract and we need to find a permanent home for Proschwitz. That's potentially 5 or 6 spaces in next season's 25 man squad, and our priority should surely be a left back and an out and out left winger. No, I haven't forgotten Brady but I am hoping he isn't becoming another permanent member of the treatment room.
He'd be behind MacGregor (assuming his health gets fixed) in the pecking order and I doubt he'd want to come to sit on the bench.
Yes, maybe. But he was 4th or 5th in the pecking order at Arsenal. Harper has played quite a lot of games, albeit in the cup. So there are games out there for another goalie. Plus if we get into Europe then we would need someone else apart from just Harper.
It would be good to have 2 number one's as opposed to a number 1 and a number 2. Harps has done okay this season but if we end with a penalty shoot out at Wembley
Disagree, Mannones been superb this season hence all the interest from big clubs. And he's younger and will only keep improving. Besides how many games has McGregor played? If he's not injured he's banned.
