Wisden's Test XI of 2010 was announced today. For the first time there were no Australians (understandably), while India as the top ranked Test team have 5 inclusions. Another first is the inclusion of Bangladesh's Tamim Iqbal. Virender Sehwag (India) Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh) Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) Sachin Tendulkar (India) Jacques Kallis (South Africa) V. V. S. Laxman (India) *ââ¬Â Mahendra Singh Dhoni (India) Graeme Swann (England) Dale Steyn (South Africa) Zaheer Khan (India) James Anderson (England) What are people's thoughts? About fair or a bit too India-biased? I'm not sure if the Ashes counts in this season, otherwise I think if my name were Alistair Cook I'd be pretty upset!
England racked up loads of 500+ scores in the ashes and its two bowlers in for England. I think its harsh on Cook. Very harsh on him.
Like I said, I'm not entirely sure if the 2010 edition covers the ashes, which did span 2010-11. I have a feeling that it doesn't
In that case, it may be fair enough. swann was a cert. There does seem to be rather a lot of Indians in there
I wouldn't be surprised to see Broad, Cook and Strauss in there but the Indians have a fine batch of players. With their growing economy and massive population I expect we're on the cusp of an Indian domination of cricket which will last for ever more.
The competition will be to get in, and stay in that team. The best hope of getting at them is to make sure they never have to play Ireland....which they have done.
