I heard Monaco are in for Dembele II and offering him big wages.

I've heard similar. Although the player himself said recently that he'd prefer to stay in England, whilst a glance at Ligue 1 will reveal that Monaco are the least ****e of 19 ****e teams, followed by PSG who are 21 points ahead and unbeaten all season. The league is an incredibly unfunny joke.

EDIT: Besides for which, I thought Monaco are in the process of major downsizing? Wasn't that the logic in getting Utd then Chelsea to pay Falcao's wages, as well as selling Martial, Rodriguez etc.?

Dembele signs for Spurs!

<sorry>

This does set things up nicely for the other Moussa Dembele to sign a 3 year contract until 2019 so that we can continue to confuse the media with conflicting reports about expiring contracts, improved deals and extensions for 'Mous(s)a Dembele'.

Great news. If Moussa II wants to improve and play international football then Monaco's not the place to do it not withstanding the big bag of cash he's being offered. If money is what he wants then he isn't the player we thought he was.

...or the player we'd want wearing a Spurs shirt. It's when you see the likes of Paulinho, Ramires, Gyan etc. moving in their prime to the equivalent of a Hackney Marshes Sunday league team, claiming that the Qatari or Chinese leagues are 'the next big thing' and that it's a 'dream come true', you are genuinely looking at men with almost zero footballing integrity.

Great news about Mousa's new deal. He's had a blinding season so far, the £15m spent on him a few years back is finally looking like a bargain.

If the Fulham lad signs we could call them Belgian Dembele and French Dembele to distinguish?

How things in football can change quickly. It's only a matter of months ago that I would have cheered loudly if we had sold Dembele and I bet I wasn't the only one. Now, he's putting in 8 out of 10 performances every week and looking a very talented footballer. Long may his current form continue.

Yes. Everyone thought he'd already agreed to go in this window, now he is vital.

Like virtually every Spurs fan, I knew he was a really good player but thought he was just not going to show it regularly in a Spurs shirt...after 3 years of hoping he'd come good I thought that the time had come for him to leave last summer. .. really glad the club had more patience than me!

Completely agree. I could probably find a number of posts where I mentioned I would've happily sold Mousa in the Summer if we were able to recoup our money on him, now I wouldn't even sell for double the price we paid. Incredible turnaround.

I don't think I can remember a better example of a footballer who looked so confused on the pitch as Dembele under AVB then he looked further confused by MP. We all knew that he had made a great impact in the early game at United with Fulham and we had seen enough to know he was a talent.
Once he twigged the system he was back with a vengeance and is looking good for Spurs. It's very good to have such a serious bulldozer playing for us.
