This is a daft question probably, but if you were Steve Morison, WHY would you go to Villa, which is a sinking ship when you could come to us and prove his worth as a top scorer... because he'll get many a chance and as proven with Milwall (and Norwich to an extent) he'll finish them. I'd say we were his best move.
I can't imagine too many Premier League players who would choose a Championship side over a Prem. Perhaps those with some local connection like Bellamy. But for one to choose a smaller Championship club like Hull City over a MASSIVE Prem club like Villa just isn't going to happen.
Did Sharp turn out for the Saints this season before his deadline day move to Forest? If so he can't come to city anyway as you are only allowed to play for two different clubs in one season because of some Uefa rule.
In which case that's that dead in the water then. You can appeal for dispensation but I don't think you'd get it for another loan move.
Just researched the Billy Sharp situation further, he's played twice in the prem for saints, both as a sub and one start in the carling cup. He has then moved on a normal loan (ie not emergency) to Forest where he's made numerous appearances. That makes him inelligable to play for anyone else this season UNLESS that move was classed as an emergency loan. These can only happen outside the normal transfer window and for a maximum of 93 days. So he couldn't sign until early February anyway. It ain't going to happen. Even if he does leave Forest as a result of the SOD sacking he'll only really be able to go back and challenge at saints.
You could ask the same question of Lambert, and Brendan Rodgers. Money grabbing ****s i hope they both get the sack.
So I got a transfer rumour. It is all conjecture. I follow Tom Cairney on twitter and he just followed Leigh Griffiths. Wikipedia thinks that Griffiths loan runs out on January 1st. A possibility?
Seems to be free scoring in Scotland but unproven here, we've been down this path before. If Wolves can't find a use for him, can we?
Ive mentioned him alot on here dating back to when barmbs was in charge, young, scores but has had fallouts with the hibs manager, wolves bought him but have always loaned him out for whatever reasons, he reminds me of fryatt a bit, hed be a good option but hes not the type who,d be scoring alot of headers
No, with a permanent signing he wouldn't be allowed to play either. You can only turn out for two clubs in a season, that's the Fifa rule. However the FA have side stepped the rule by choosing to say that emergency loans don't count. They did this with Nicky Shorey apparently. In other countries the emergency loan doesn't exist anyway, once the window closes there is no more movement. If the FA are consistent in the way they apply the rule the only way Sharp would be able to turn out for us this season would be as an emergency loanee after the January window closes.
