With overnight temperature reading 27F....and having just looked out the window and noticed that it is snowing I declare that officially WINTER HAS STARTED.

Yes Fahrenheit...Stones & Pounds......Inches Feet & Yards (although I have used metric since my 1954 apprenticeship)....and a cricket pitch...stumps to stumps will always be a chain in length.

Did buy a new metric Micrometer as an apprentice....but my Imperial one was bought off an old timer who was retiring.....he bought it in the 1930's....and it still measures a thousandth of an inch with complete accuracy.

Also had to use inches to one sixty fourth...for our American customers.

Freddie Issaka got some game time as pre-season started....and he did okay.....I thought Schumacher was bringing him onboard for bit parts to build up his playing time with the first team.....maybe he thought it was a step too far too soon.....who knows.

It's ok throwing a youngster in when you are winning a lot of games but we aren't exactly sitting in a safe seat just yet are we. Issaka will get his turn but not quite yet a while methinks. I would give him a go in this cup tie though if we are safely on our way.

I meant in the Sutton FA Cup 3rd round. It’s clear the Championship is a tough gig even for experienced pros.

The Premier League has made a £6.7 billion domestic TV deal with SKY & TNT to show 270 live games a season.

The rich get richer and the rest of us live off the scraps past down.

At least the majority of it is still with two providers. The more it gets fragmented, the more expensive it is for fans.

I'm not sure football clubs care a great deal about what fans have to pay. They do love to chuck a few bob on a bill for something very ordinary when it suits. I think fans get immuned to the way they are treated eventually and just cough up when and where they can. Lets face what else would I do on a Saturday afternoon if not chuck money at Argyle.

Couple of slightly surprising sackings today in the Championship. Mowbray at Sunderland and Duff at Swansea. Will we have another 50 page sweat on pasoti all saying it might be Schuey.........

The other shocking news for me is that Man City have been charged by the FA for "failing to control their players" following Sunday's event. I don't condone players surrounding the Ref on most occasions but have to say the Ref for that was so shockingly out of order I was surprised nobody decked him. We get some bad decisions but that would have caused a riot at Home Park.

He’s favourite just about every job that comes up and has been for a couple of years. The only one I’d worry about is Everton……..

Only 15 pages so far on pasoti. Hope Saf hasn't put his house on this. If it only makes 15 pages then clearly it's a non starter.

Well. money talks of course but he knows what he gets here.

If we’re relegated, he won’t be sacked and few fans would want him to be sacked. That’s not going to be the case at a lot of clubs.

In addition, most clubs in this league are financial basket cases and he doesn’t have that to worry about either.
