    Very, I also liked the suggested boots, shirt, trousers and cap to go with it. Would it keep out the wind though?

    That's my long term plan/dream. A flat in London and a house in Southampton. Don't see either as a threat to my anal virginity.

    Nah, why complicate it? That'd be too fiddly, nice and simple is all that's required.

    Go for a Berghaus fleece and rainproof as separate, it's all about the layers. North Face is a decent make but very expensive for what it is. Steer clear of Superdry, not worth it. Lowe Alpine make some top stuff too but it is also rather pricey.

    This thread has made me feel very old. Never thought I'd be offering up advice on winter jackets! Next stop slippers and elasticated waist trousers!!
