I think both would benefit from another Yo-Yo. I certainly wouldn’t give up on either of them being competent enough at PL level in the future
Agreed. I'm more optimistic about THB than Downes, who's already 26, but they're both worth another shot.
I think they have both blown hot and cold this year. Had good games and had really bad ones. Both young and in a struggling team. I a convinced THB will be a top Premier league defender and I am quite sure Downes will come good.
Getting in the England squad, even if our national team is not blessed with a great many centre backs is still an accomplishment and shows the faith coaches have in him. If we’re carrying on with a back three, then THB, Edwards and Wood seem like great options and a good base for a promotion push
