I never thought I'd say this but after his recent performances under Juric I don't mind him staying as long as they continue.
Really ****y. If he was settled at Wednesday and we had no plans to play him leave him there. SR really are twats aren’t they?
I think it is a combo of things - SW owner being a cock and mouthing off and us not sure about Chelsea recalling Big Les. We had to recall him by a certain time or we would lose the right to recall and imagine the kick off if Les went back and our replacement that we own cannot play
If it's true then yeah, dick move and pretty pointless. We'd piss off Shea who we still want for next season and the future, and we'd likely ruin any chance of getting Rohl in the summer if we are still interested. It just doesn't make any sense for what would be slightly more money, and I doubt a loan fee from a Championship club is going to be a significant amount in the grand scheme. What's most likely is we are waiting for the assurance from Chelsea that they are not going to recall Les, then we open up the conversation with Wednesday about him going back there, and potentially strengthen our hand in getting Rohl in the summer at the same time. I hope that's how it plays out anyway. Seems logical to me.
Yeah seems proper ****ty to me. Can only imagine the reaction on here if we were on the other end of it.
Reference the Shea Charles recall and based on what I would do if I was running the club, I would hope someone has picked up the phone and spoken to Shea and Rohl and explained the position we were/are in, hence the recall. Doing that keeps them onside regards to the future. Hopefully, if we keep Les and we don’t need Shea to stay for the rest of the season, we will smooth things over by letting him go back to Wednesday.
Yeah, that's all well and good, but why then ask for more money? Why not just agree a loan on the same commercial/financial terms as if we hadn't recalled him? Just leaves a sour taste in the mouth, and I'd be very pissed if we were on the receiving end of such a scenario
Two thoughts on that - firstly if the other clubs are offering more than Wednesday were, we could conceivably be saying “you can have him back, but it needs to be on the same terms”. Which we may not have done had their owner been less of a cock (and we don’t know what level of cock he was when we approached him for Rohl). Secondly, all this is off a report by Alan Nixon, so should really be taken with a gallon of salt.
If we were closer to 17th I'd be really nervous about losing him. But at this stage I'm meh about it. If it happens it happens, can't do much about it. Reintegrate Charles into the first team ready for next season.
If its what he wants then we should just do it. Unless we are talking a significant amount on money, which I can't image we are, then it seems a bit daft to piss Charles off and impact his development for what is probably a couple of £100k.
