I think there's no one formula that works every time. You have to adjust based on who you're playing and what players are available. Sometimes it's about balance. You might decide one who to play LM and RM based on who is available in the middle or up front. A football team is a dynamic thing!
I still think Hoilett can do a job for us but he is the kind of player that needs to be used in the right way. Fair enough, he's not that adaptable. Hoilett is actually not really a winger by trade, I believe. He prefers to play centrally, behind the striker/s.
Another problem with Hoilett is that he is right footed. And so is Phillips. Neither of them are great at crossing with their left, so where do you put them if they play at the same time? I'd rather have Taarabt or Krancjar on the left because they can use both feet or cut in.
