Nah Dragon 32 lol (I still have mine super rare Welsh early 80s computer)

I miss DOS back in the good old days of editing autoexec.bat & config.sys files and your computer booting in ten seconds (once it got past the memory counter).

Some things are just easier with a command prompt not a gui & a mouse

We used to support software written for doctors surgeries the whole thing was written in nested batch files was pretty cool stuff.

Also 32 bit multi tasking DOS, now that was very cool stuff too.
 
Used to be in graphic design in the early 90s. DOS and windows 3.11 programs, twin screens and tablets, 286 then 386 processors. Didn't use Macs at all for some reason but it was in the oil industry, not advertising.
 
I still use XP, I hate the others. Considering suing MS for not keeping it up to date after making me buy it, pretty sure it's against consumer law
 
After destroying my good laptop I use an old one with Vista.
If it breaks I don't mind throwing this one at the wall.

Did you get your notification from MS then? Still waiting for mine!
8 crashed on me and I had to roll back to 7. It's no wonder they wanted to hurry on from that.
 
I've heard mostly good things about people trying it out, hence why I've reserved a copy.

I would still urge people to wait though, until (like I said earlier) MS have ironed out as many bugs as they can.
 
I actually liked Vista, had 64 bit version on my laptop and never had a problem with it.

That bootloop bug isn't from the upgrade, it's from a recent cumulative update, install 10 & turn off automatic updates & it's fine.

Like I said earlier DON'T use Windows update to grab it use the link I provided earlier (you don't even need to reserve it, that was really for MS to figure out demand & gather stats on machines it was being installed on) & make a bootable USB drive. Up until now I've always said NEVER upgrade Windows always wipe & reload I haven't done that, wonder how the free version authenticates if doing a blank install...

The only problem I had was getting the free beta version of the new non java (yes!) Minecraft & that was just due to traffic around launch day.

Stuck 10 on 2 laptops a newish HP & an older Lenovo X201, it's given the X201 a new lease of life much faster than with a fresh install of 8.1 and that new version of Minecraft written with C++ is do much faster no lag at all

Really want to get my hands on Hololens next......

If you do a clean install of 10 rather than upgrade you'll have to eventually pay for it . Microsoft says that they can't tell the difference between someone doing that and being a system builder for example.
 
Buggered if I can get this to work. Stops half way, I have to turn off manually, and it then rolls back to the original OS. <grr>

That's not quite right see next post below.

Downloading via my link & using USB still does an upgrade & you won't have to pay at all. The only difference is you're in control because all the files are already downloaded AND if it goes horribly wrong you have a boot drive to fix it.

Doing it via windows update is too vague and it fell over several times on my laptop, used the USB method and worked straight away. Probably because I'm old school IT professional (well I was before medically retired) so I don't trust windows update.
 
Also if you run the upgrade once successfully to Win 10 you can then wipe & reload do my partition trick and your hardware hash will already be registered with MS so you won't need a key to enter it will automatically re-licence & activate.
