This period is starting to feel like the period we had towards the end of Keane's championship promotion season. And also a bit like the Big Sam great escape.

It's early days but it is certainly beginning to feel like that. It's the most optimistic I have felt since the 3-0 v Everton under Big Sam

He seems to have that determination to be the best he can be - theres no reason why he cant play in at least the championship. My worry is if we dont go up he'll have offers from above and he may go.

I totally agree and I can't believe I'm going to say this but if we do go up although he maybe wouldn't be first choice I keep hold of Wyke.
I said he was one of the worst strikers I've ever seen at Sunderland.
Then I said give him the benefit of the doubt he's scoring goals he might do enough to get us promoted but he'll never be able to step up.
Then I'm looking at the goals hes been scoring and as long as the quality balls are there I really can't see why he can't score goals at a higher level.
Or is this just me getting a little bit carried away

I slated Wyke as well. The change has been immense. He looks hungry and dangerous. Johnson is known for his good man management skills so he’s clearly worked on Sykes confidence.

happy to have been proved wrong but I think it’s fair to say no one looked very good under Parkinson. Probably one of our worst ever managers.
