They can't do anything for hitting the ball at Nadal but they should for calling the umpire a disgrace five times!
Whilst it is not illegal per se, it is nevertheless ‘not cricket’ so to speak. Do any of the top players deliberately target their opponents?
Taff, The rules of tennis and The Code of tennis are both silent on hitting balls at your opponent. It is totally acceptable. But strangely (stupidly) A player loses a point when the ball hits him or anything he is wearing or carrying besides the racket. The only way to score a legal point in tennis is by using your racket. The moment a ball hits your body or clothing, the play is deemed over and the point is awarded to your opponent.
I know - but etiquette dictates that the players adopt a code of conduct! Targeting an opponent is not cricket!
Mens seedings pretty decimated. Into round 4 go: Djokovic (1) Raonic (15) Goffin (21) Bautista Agut (23) Pella (26) Paire (28) Humbert (unseeded) Verdasco (unseeded) 8 more tomorrow.
Women's. Pliskova (3) Halep (7) Svitolina (8) Martic (24) Gauff (unseeded) Muchova (unseeded) Yastremska (unseeded) Zhang (unseeded) 8 more tomorrow. The women's is always more unpredictable. It's a safe bet that Djoko, Federer or Nadal will win the men's.
Evans out....He had his chances and really played well. Murry and Williams to good and were easy winners, Not bad for not playing together before...
Looking forward to Manic Monday.....Some very tasty interesting games to look forward to......I need to do some work though but sod it why have dogs and bark yourself...My Bro can do it as he cant stand tennis
Pure luck - my wife’s name came out of the ballot in early April for 2nd July. Almost a fortnight later - on a Sunday - I received an email confirming that I’d been lucky. I was lucky last year - saw Anderson beat Federer in 5 sets! That’s it now probably for years and years!
