The word set, when used in that form, would usually always become plural, even though there has only been 1 set played, as you quite rightly pointed out. If I were to have said “Not if one goes 1-0 up in set“ then it wouldn't make sense, set becomes plural as more than one is due to be played in the match.

I haven't watched much of him at Wimbledon but heard he's no looking as formidable as usual. Unbelievable draw he's had in this, so had no players to challenge him anyway. Best player he's played was a 19 year old Brit making his debut.

 

Haven't watched a single game but either Bangers or Mash to win the "ladies " plate .

Put 2 blokes in wigs they do less work then the men and get paid the same.

Marion Bartoli(former Wimbledon winner) was asked the other day if they should be playing best of 5 sets, her answer was no because the quality of tennis would be diluted due to the players being exhausted further into the tournament. Happy enough for the men to do it though and receive equal pay.

I wouldn't want them playing 5 sets tbh, watching them for 3 sets is bad enough, but the equal pay thing definitely needs looked at.
