If true he's got to go, pay of his remaining contract and release him - by the time he's back he'll have 3/3.5 months remaining and I'd rather blood Osula now. Sportrac seem to think he's on 45k per week and roughly 30 weeks until his contract expires. £1.35m pay off - get him off the wage bill and open up a space in the squad for someone to actually come in and play. If we had £50m in the summer for Geuhi I'd rather have £48.5m and no Wilson in January
Not surprising to any of us. He's going to get paid one way or another. No point in releasing him so he sign for somebody else then suddenly get fit and get a few goals. He should be removed from the group and sent on holiday somewhere.
Did think it was a bit low - but maybe someone had some common sense and gave him a low basic wage with high bonuses for apps and goals? 100 games is insane in 5 years - that's pretty much 50% of games missed.
He should be giving half of that back to season ticket holders and local charities. EDIT: And I'm saying that as a non season ticket holder.
Naff off yer dainty little fairy. Shearer never got trifling injuries cos he took care of his body and focused on recover after games, Wilson obviously does the Kieron Dyer thing and goes straight out on the piss. I don't think anyone is awaiting Wilson's return anymore, and all people want is him gone and a replacement in.
Sounds like he doesn't have a hamstring injury at all and is struggling mentally? And these are the kinds of people Howe wanted to keep at the club?
Just from the "taking a step back/emotional rollercoaster/best version of me". It sounds to me more like someone talking about deeper issues than purely fitness. He should've been sold when we bought Isak. It comes back again to our transfer activity - particularly selling - being poor, which is what I think Mitchell was talking about (rather than what Howe took it as). That we've been stuck with him, Trippier, Murphy, Almiron, Lascelles and more for so long and well past their sell-by date isn't good enough. We've got two crap left backs (Targett and Kelly) on about £12m a year.
It does seem to read that way, like he's struggling with the mental / emotional battle, as much as the physical fitness itself. Can't be easy for him, but FFS it's crippling our wage bill and PSR limits by paying him without playing him. So frustrating.
I thought we could send him/ put him on "gardening leave". Pity Ashworth wasn't still here, he is an expert on that topic.
