does anyone else think he should get a chance in a england top? wins everything he goes 4 out playing most if not all the CB in the england set up

I think he's too "direct" to be considered for England, he almost always will just boot the ball upfield/out of play rather than passing it, and thats fine for us but he's just not the sort of player England would look at (could probs get a game for Ireland/Scotland if he has relatives though).

I think he does have relatives. Relatively speaking.

I think the younger ones will start to play more now anyway: Shawcross, Jones etc and Williamson does not have youth on his side (27).

Fair point. I think if Lescott played week in week out he would be better, but he isn't so I guess your right! I agree with Smudger though, the younger ones will start to play soon, and anyway there's one thing that means he won't even be on Capello's radar... He plays for Newcastle.

He was good but that movie was in the 80's and he's a bit too small to play for England. Was he even English? I also believe he played the Leprechaun in all the movies too in so don't think he would need a status boost?

I hope first and foremost he keeps starting for us, Pardew doesnt seem to favour him when Saylor's fit.

Although if my comments are unclear, I think he would be capable for England, just wont be picked. Too "unfashionable" a choice for Capello, the media would slaughter him.

I think he's class, end of the day a defenders job is to defend!, and he does it very well i.e. wins headers, makes tackles/slide tackles, decent at marking, and the one thing i Love about Willo is the fact that he doesnt stay silent, he seems something wrong or thinks he can help a player with some advice he'll say it

He seems a quiet guy in real life but i see decent captain material in him

Ain't good enough. There's more to being a defender than just winning the ball from attackers. He needs to participate in the overall play, and at the moment he hoofs the ball around far too much.

A slightly above average EPL defender, but we need better for the England national team.
