The Tiger's Co-op isn't closing. Its joining forces with CTWD. In reality that means that those who created and ran Tiger's Co-op can hand on their work to the next generation. Hopefully some of them will be given a boost and will be active in the merged trust. If not I'm sure they will be thanked for their work in the past. Thousands of supporters didn't join the Tiger's Co-op. The new trust will be successful in terms of numbers if it does its job properly and makes a difference in getting the interests of supporters taken up by the club. The more successful it is, the more members it'll get.
Cheers OBI Though I think having a new name might have helped attracting more members because right or wrong a lot of people do tar CTWD as anti Allam
Hasn't it been said in this thread that tiger co-op were founding members of CTWD? If that's the case, all from tigers co-op must already be members of CTWD? How would it be a merge if they're all already members of CTWD?
Have supported Tigers Co-op & CTWD since they started, so yes. Have asked for original co-op donation "to be put to good use" Tigers Co-op need to change their name as not legally a co-op
My issue with Supporters Trust type things is they group together a minority of people, elect an even smaller committee and claim to speak for everybody. I barely agreed with a single word of the long winded wordy statements issued by CTWD (statements containing lots of words but saying absolutely nothing) yet they were put forward as speaking for me. A few seasons ago I sat in the East Stand Family Section. This was then abolished and I had the choice to move to the family orientated south stand or pay more to stay in the East Stand. I moved. I didn't complain or moan because I wasn't that bothered. I had a choice to make, I made it. The club chose to rearrange the stadium, I respect that decision. There seems to be only one vegetarian option on the concourse. A Bombay Vegetable Pie. It's not my kind of thing so I don't buy it. I assume there's no Vegan option. I'm clueless about Gluten free options. I don't complain. I wouldn't expect a supporters trust to complain for me as I realise the majority of people at the stadium would want to eat meat, indeed many seem to only want to eat meat. I would never portray a minority interest/gripe as a majority thing.
The Tigers Co-op as an organisation helped found CTWD. That is different from saying all individual members of Tigers Co-op are members of CTWD. Its a merger because not all CTWD members are members of the Tigers Co-op. A CTWD vote to merge was pretty emphatic, so a merger it will be. I haven't seen the draft constitution, be expect it to be different from the Tigers Co-op one.
I think there's been a bit of muddling between the ctwd representatives and those that support their cause on the forums As I said , I have every confidence in those that organised the group and those in the public eye . There is an angry contingent across the forums that may put more locals off as they may feel the group is more anti Allan than pro city interest . Ironically it may take a name change to make some feel happy at backing a supporters trust . As I said earlier I was very happy that the group was able to maintain a dignified dialogue with all concerned , without effigy burning and tantrums
I read everyone and we didn't speak for you, or claim to. We spoke for our members and those who agreed with our broad aim, which was to keep Hull City Hull City. I see no problem with a supporters trust asking for decent food for vegetarians or vegans. As long as there's good quality meat products available, who cares. I don't see why everything has to be a majority/minority thing. Only an idiot would say the majority of City fans don't eat meat. Doesn't stop anybody saying the vegetarian option is awful can't you do something about it.
Tigerlink is run by City fans, but it's not just a City site, it aims to promote all things Hull. http://www.tigerlink.co.uk/
Sorry Obi but you are wrong regarding only one supporters trust. Supporters Direct will only give assistance to ONE trust for each club. At the moment it is providing that support to Tigers Coop. Hull City could have as many supporters trusts as it needed, impractical but possible. It could for instance has a Hull City Supporters Educational Trust, a Hull City Supporters Walton Street and West Park Development Trust or even Hull City Official Supporters Club Trust. The biggest challenge is of course being able to work with the club and if Assem and Ehab Allam do not want anything to do with a supporters trust founded by CTWD, it does make it difficult. HCC could state that it would work with such a trust but would that really make the situation with the owners any easier? There is also a practical problem of balancing investment by supporters in a trust, the cost of administration of the trust and a return on the investment. No mean task for a club of our size. Then there is the political side of it all, imagine the scene, Assem Allam says, I will support your trust and together we will buy the stadium from the council, but first and this doesnt leave this room, the clubs name must be changed...........
and there it is, while im trying to discuss something, maybe change my opinion some **** comes flying in with abuse, thus tarnishing the stearling work CTID have done as a group, theres no wonder people have turned away from it. I rest my case
If it was someone from CTWD who came in with abuse, then you might have a point, but it's an individual on a message board, why he has any bearing on your opinion of CTWD is completely beyond me.
