The reason De Gea is taking his time in signing the contract with you is that he doesn't want his current agent to receive any money so he will sign with Jorge Mendes tomorrow which means he should sign for you soon unless he suddenly decides to stay and accept the wage increase+ captaincy at Atleti. If he does sign for you then you have bought the future best keeper in the world. He is so good for his age, even Casillas says so,he will soon replace Reina as second keeper for Spain and eventually replace Casillas. I have watched every game in which he has played in and he hasn't made a howler yet, probably the worst goal he has conceded is the second against Liverpool in the Europa league

Clubs are always going to say that their best players and agents are always going to do what ever they can to get a better deal. I suspect that De Gea will be signing this summer and all that has been said this week is just posturing by club and player management. Regarding our other targets of Young and Rodwell, I really hope we do not sign either of them. Young because we have players who are better in the same position and Rodwell because he is grossly overrated, he can't even get in the Everton team week in week out.
Yes, I do think he is 'that good' even Marca (A real madrid biased paper) dubs him as Superman and Van der Gea. All the stats back him up aswell apart from him conceding the most outside of the box shots but that is only because Atleti's manager doesn't play our best def mid and doesn't instruct the midfield and attack to pressure the oppsition so players like Iniesta, Ronaldo, Piatti will all be able to fire free shots at him
