Just after we were relegated from the PL, if I had been asked how I would feel about being in 4th place at this time next season, I would have said I'd be delighted. I thought we were in for another relegation battle and perhaps a Wolves-esq free fall. We managed to get it so catastrophically wrong in the Last PL season. Yet now, here we are in 4th and I'm not happy. It is because despite our relatively lofty place in the league, we are generally awful to watch. We are making player purchase mistakes and god knows what our training regime and coaching staff are doing. It can be no coincidence we have so many injuries. On current form we will not make the playoffs. I don't think it is just HR, it's the back up staff, the scouts, the coaches.

For me all the signs are that the setup is a shambles. Its not one single thing that makes me think that, but a whole host of little things. Body language, our best youngsters loaned out, ageing has beens brought in, too many on loans, Redknapps miserable face and demeanour, money being wasted, poor performances, boring play, etc, etc etc.

I feel like Im worse than Victor Meldrew, and Im not sure I can take much more.

To make the playoffs we obviously need to stay above 3 teams below us. 10 games to go we need 5 wins to reach 78 points. Can we get 5 wins from home games against Wigan, Blackpool, Forest, Watford and Millwall, plus away games to Boro, Bournmouth, Blackburn, Leicester and Barnsley? I can see 5 wins there....maybe not too many more though.
Assuming Wigan continue to amass points as thay are and over take us then 2 of the following would also need to overtake us....
78 points means Forest would need 7 wins in 10 games to draw level.
Reading would need 7 wins, 1 draw 2 defeats to draw level. Brighton have a game more so need 7 wins 1 draw 3 defeats. Not easy for any of them as they're not in great form either. Could be close...and before anyone says take it one game at a time I'm just showing that average form from now on should (he says) get us there. After that....who knows...it's a lottery.

Yes i think we'll make the play offs and not go up, which would be a good thing in my opinion.

I think we'll make the play-offs but not the final with our recent form. The wheels that were wobbling on their axles are finally starting to come away and fall off.

100% agree; I actually don't want us to get promoted even via playoffs, We just don't deserve it and it will be a disaster if we do. Two years in the championship rebuilding a squad of players with something to prove around a core of hard-working youngsters like Ale, Simpson.

Play offs and promotion. As long as no more injury's and we get the injured ones back soon. I am serious.

QPR are 0-3 in finals since ive supported them, the Flyers are 0-4 since ive supported them.

To lose 7 finals without winning a single one takes some doing.

I think we could well make the play off as long as Charlie is back and firing

I think we've got to many injuries to seriously consider the final let alone winning it.

TBH, i'm getting to the stage where i dont really care. We are safe now and i dont think we can get relegated.
We should now be looking forward to next season and identifying younger hungry players we want to get in alongside our few decent ones (Simpson, Charlie etc) & our new manager, who im sure will be there.

Us getting promoted would be disasterous IMHO. If you thought last time was bad, just wait and see...

I honestly feel bad for the genuine supporters who pay thier hard earned to watch us at the moment.
I said on another forum pre game that i would have ripped your arms off if offered a draw. Our second string aint good enough..FULL STOP

It's all about momentum, we have been on a downward spiral since we lost to Leicester whereas they have never looked back. I don't see us getting anything at Boro the way we're playing and Wigan will have a field day, defeats in those two will put us on the brink of dropping out of the top six. It's all well and good saying Charlie will come back and save us, don't bank on it, it's the shyte around him that's dragging us down...

As many have said, I'm really starting to lose all interest in this team (not the club, but the players, most of whom I find it increasingly difficult to like at all).
My two lads are a good gauge for me, especially the 14 year old. He is usually very optimistic and drags me out of my glass half empty thoughts concerning all things QPR. However, even he has just about given up on most of these players.
Up until last night, I thought we would definitely make the play offs, but due to having dinosaurs as coaches, an unbelievable injury list (quite possibly linked to our dinosaurs' methods), a Manager in Harry who clearly doesn't want to be here and the usual array of over-paid has-beens who really don't give a ****, I think we will probably drop out of play off contention. I can quite easily see us losing our next two, away to Boro and home to Wigan and that would just about be that I would have thought.

It must be said that the impact of injuries should not be underestimated. I don't think any other side in the this league would cope if they lost arguably half of their best starting 11!!

Having said all that, unlike most, I actually think that if we did somehow scrape a play off place, we may have the players (and Charlie back) to win a couple of huge matches when it really mattered!
Whether going up would be a good thing or not is another question entirely.

We are there not where I thought we would be of course but all the time automatic promotion is on ... I'm still looking at that!

Only when its certain that it's the play offs will I think about that

    I am loving it

Great squad and still have the players to complete the task . Harold getting exposed as well ... All good

Very poor last night and well beaten

    So its Boro away now

I fully believe in the teams potential

I do not want another season in a league with these teams

We have to get up and we have to believe we can

Good call col I agree, I was very low last season & now i'm getting that way again after such a promising start to the season, there's no fight in the team & showed nothing last night even being down to 10men, I haven't liked the style of play all season but we was getting results so enough said, but now we've been sussed out, the passing game we had has gone, I give up I could go on but will bore myself like the team.

We're getting that way now, with an increasing injury list and two games a week for the foreseeable, so we can expect more. Injuries will play a big part in where we - and you - finish. Can't see you dropping out of the play off places but then it's all a bit of a lottery as we know. And if you lot did get up, you know your uber-rich owners would draft in half a new squad, so it's not really possible to say what sort of season you might have in the PL.

Incidentally, if Thomas Rogne is starting against you lot next week, you can all relax. Shocking central defender, at fault for a lot last night.
